>Day 5

>10am
i slept in today! and i’m refusing to go to The Guide meeting right now because i know if i start, i’m not gonna leave it and we’re planning to go out before it’s over, so… i tried not to convert the time, but it was too easy. but it won’t be so bad since we have The Guide chat window. i can scroll through when i get in tonight. *sigh* i’m addicted.

10:30pm
so we went to Pa’ia today. it’s a little quaint town. not as touristy as the rest of the island. i wanted to move there. there’s, of course gorgeous beach, and such cute little shops.

then we went to “The Road to Hana.” a twisty, turny, beautiful road! this is where you’ll find The Twin Falls. it was so cool!

then it was a quick stop for coffee and bathroom breaks back in Pa’ia before we headed back to our side of the island.

and finally, we came back to Front St. to have dinner. once again, we found ourselves at a table overlooking the ocean! 🙂 we’ve had luck with that EVERY night! either it’s early, or we get the last available one.

the ride back was dark and rainy! we could barely see the road! but it was still the end to an AWESOME day!

and i read The Guide meeting. progress. and new people. and new ideas. i love it!

>Day 4

>5:30am
i am awake. barely.
in my bathing suit, getting ready to go snorkeling. say it with me now kids. “snorkeling.” the more i say it, the weirder it sounds.

so i did battle with the rooster this morning. at 4 in the morning it was all like, “cock-a-doodle-doo!” and i was like, “shut up rooster.” and it was like, “cock-a-doodle-doo!” and i was like, “fine, i’m ignoring you!” and then i woke up at 5, and i was all like, “so, rooster, crow so i can record you.” (on a tape recorder) and it was all like, *silence* and i was all like, “i am NOT getting pwned by a rooster!” i recorded that goddamn rooster. it took longer than it should have, but i WON!

i hope no other animals want to do battle with me today. especially cuz i’m going snorkeling. which means i’ll be on their turf. or would i be on their surf?

2:29pm
just got back from snorkeling!
so there were two stops. after we got back on the boat from the first stop i started feeling kinda sick. they said that this was normal. i thought that it sucked. but i started feeling a bit better before the second stop and got to swim with giant sea turtles! seriously, they were almost as big as people! after i saw three of them, i had my fill (cuz i was beginning to feel a bit sick again) but it was GORGEOUS. you know those nature shows where you see all the marine life underwater. and you see tropical fish, and coral, and turtles, and blue, blue water? well it’s just like that but through your own eyes!!! (all that swimming was so hard on nerd who never sees the light of day! XD)
after that there was a little tour of the islands and they told us all about where the best beaches were. there’s Little Beach for nudity and naked fire dancing. there’s Big Beach for polishing your feet (the natural process of the sand against your feet when you walk there. one lady was like, “it does!” and held up her foot. it WAS rather smooth.) and Black Beach where the sand is dark! and no one’s around. i wanna go there!
on the way back, we stopped off to get some cane juice. as in sugar cane! 🙂

now i’m gonna go attempt to do something with my hair! ah!

10:45pm
just got home from Front St.
first, i need you all to know something

now that that’s out of the way…

so first we had dinner at Whaler’s Warf.

Then we roamed for a little while on Front St. and i stumbled upon this:

which looks strangely similar to these:

oh! that’s right. it’s the SAME PLACE! 😀

then i got more gelato. this is what it should look like EVERY time you get served ice cream! (especially gelato):

oh, and i found this bad baby in my pocket yesterday. apparently left there from the last time i wore those pants! 🙂

forgotten pocket money FTW!

ps. is it wrong that i had “A Song About an Anglerfish” in my head while i was snorkeling?

oh, and the “gate” is neither a gate nor a jar.

>Day 3

>1:05pm
went to the beach this morning! so relaxing and so pretty! you know those recordings of waves to help you sleep? well this was live and much much better! i nearly did fall asleep!

next i’m going with my aunt to listen to people try to sell her another time share. she’s not going to buy it. but it means snorkeling and the luau cost $200 less. so…

also, i posted my video for 7NAP and my 7NAP Extra. yay me of planning ahead! 🙂

8:23pm
so we went to the time share place. the tour took up most of the first hour and the mumbo-jumbo about points and such took up the SECOND HOUR! we were tired and hungry when it was done.

then we went to Front St. (kinda the main boulevard of Maui). we ate at this place called The Fish Co. and it was REALLY good! Macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi at a table overseeing the ocean. got to watch the sunset. so awesome!

so, i don’t know how, but i lost my spare camera battery. i charged it last night. put away the charger, and put the battery… in an undisclosed location. i really don’t know how i lost it while writing yesterday’s blog! me and my aunt have pretty much turned the place up-side down and it is NOWHERE! i unpacked and repacked my purse, camera bag and suitcase, looked… everywhere. either someone snuck in and stole it (but left my laptop) or a wizard snuck in and placed a shrinking charm on it. my money’s on the wizard theory.

snorkeling tomorrow. wake-up time at 5am. g’night interwebs!

**ps. my coconut shall be named Winston the Happy Coconut! :)**

>Day 2

>6am – Hawaii Time
Thanksgiving

oh my God! i just woke up to go to the bathroom, and i hear a rooster crow, and i just think, “hmm. interesting alarm clock.” and then i realize it’s coming through the window and i think, “someone has a loud alarm clock.” it’s not until the third time that i realize that it’s actually a fucking rooster! it’s still crowing. i’m excited by this. it’s still dark by the way. Auntie’s not up yet and i’m typing this in a txt file that i can copy & paste when i find an internet connection.
the rooster seems to be riling things up. now some of the other birds outside are like, “holy crap, i think it’s morning! *sing*” 🙂

6:20am
omg! there are MULTIPLE roosters! 3 or 4. i just heard a sycnchronized rooster crow! and it’s starting to get light out! yay! <– a lot of exclamation marks. i'm sorry. 😀

1:38pm
went to the grocery store to pick up essentials. you know, water, eggs, strange flavored Hawaiian hot dogs. the usual. then we went to have breakfast at a Mexican restaurant. (weird, i know) it was good though! and finally we went to an internet cafe and i was able to download the drivers i needed for my ethernet connection. (who uses wire anymore???)

10:51pm.
so now i have internet in the condo, which is AWESOME! i won’t have to schedule time at the internet cafe! AND i get to talk to everyone on Skype! not to mention the blog and picture posts! 🙂

so it’s Thanksgiving and i’m in Hawaii. which means we went to a luau (loo-ow). i always hear the word said but i never have to spell it.

so now my lei is in a plastic bag in the fridge as the lady who sold it to me told me to with it. but here’s what it looks like when it’s not being preserved.

free lei vs. upgrade!

the buffet:

after dinner, there was the entertainment! it ended with a fire show. and the guys were hot. which was a definite plus! 🙂

that last picture is the one i didn’t get to take since my camera battery died. and i didn’t have my camera bag. which means i didn’t have my fully charged battery with me. yeah. i’m still a little pissed about that one. needless to say, i’m gonna have my replacement battery in my pocket for the rest of the trip!

but i DID get a happy coconut!

he is my new friend. i’ve still gotta name him! i’m taking suggestions.

and that’s the play by play boys and girls! to be continued tomorrow! 😀

i tripped and cut open your heart”

Shame On You by Hot Hot Heat

no, there is no reason for that other than i'm listening to that right now.

>update… tl;dr

>so i’ve been posting a lot lately, but i haven’t really been talking about what’s going on with me. which is rather strange considering that this is my blog. in fact, i don’t even think i’ve mentioned The Guide to Nerdfighting …in your pants. which is weird since i’m absolutely obsessed with it. (my mother wants to strangle me every time she hears the word Nerdfighter now.)

so, i should probably go in chronological order, but since time in my universe doesn’t flow in a manner compatible with the rest of existence, that probably won’t end up working too well. so i’ll just have to write it the way it makes sense in my head!

so this morning i was driven to work by my mechanic. whom i’d never met before. because my mom always dealt with him. it. was. SURREAL. he has a beige Mercedes circa 1987 which looks much like this:
so old car, old guy, playing old music. i mean old like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Judy Garland. literally.

i saw Hank Green last Saturday, and i posted pictures of that, but i didn’t write about it. as you would expect it. was. EPIC. in the middle of playing songs, he took questions for about half an hour. he answered everything from “what did you do before vlogbrothers?” to “pirates or ninjas?” to “Star Wars or Star Trek?” at which point he answered Star Trek. at which point 50% of the room’s hearts, including my own, broke. it was quite a strange experience to hear almost exactly half of a room cheering while the other half gaped in shocked silence. and near the end of the blissfully long Q&A, people were casually asking questions and he was talking as if it were just an abnormally large conversation. oh, and just a fun little point: when Hank got to the line “I’d be wearing wizard robes with gold and red” in This Isn’t Hogwarts, all the Gryffindors in the room started cheering. <3
Dr Noise opened for him, and i feel really bad that since i was so centered on telling Hank about The Guide i didn’t get a signed copy of his CD. 🙁 my one regret of the night.

but speaking of The Guide it’s the most wonderful thing that could possibly happen. that is, it will be if we ever succeed in getting the word out about it! and for the record, i WILL be committing my letters to Hank and John to paper TODAY. i’ve written a message to Alex Day (aka Nerimon) and i’ll be writing to other hi-profile Nerdfighters soon! so we’ll see how this pans out. and on a side note, i’m no longer an Alan fan (for reasons related to The Guide). 🙁

oh! and i am going to Hawaii on Wednesday! and i am EXTREMELY excited about this! there are only two things that concern me. 1) i can’t go to The Guide meeting that following Sunday 2) i may not be able to make/post a video that Friday for 7NAP. there’s no way for me to remedy not being able to go to The Guide meeting, but i am going to make a video on Tuesday and ask one of the other girls to switch it to “public” on Friday. hopefully though, i’ll just be able to make a video from Hawaii.

and that brings up 7NAP, which is 7 Nerds-a-Plenty, the new video project i’m involved in which is in its second week. i’m Friday, so i’ll be posting a video later today. i will also be posting a video on my channel later, because i’ve been meaning to all week, but just haven’t gotten around to it.

and i think that gets me all caught up for now!

oh yeah, and i like Hank’s song “The Vegetables” more than i probably should. :/
